Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve complex that also houses a temple in Ubud, Bali. Its official name, as written on the welcome board, is Padangtegal Mandala Wisata Wanara Wana. It is home to around 340 long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis), including 32 adult males, 19 young males, 77 adult females, 122 juveniles and 54 infants. This is a small rainforest that is also populated by a variety of other tropical animals. Located in the center of Ubud Village, this Monkey Forest, called Wanara Wana in Balinese, plays an important role in maintaining the survival of Bali’s monkey population and is one of the island’s many nature reserves.
Puri Saren Ubud, also known as Ubud Royal Palace, is the official residence of the King of Ubud and is dotted with charming traditional Balinese houses. The palace is located in the heart of Ubud, Bali, and right in front of it is a traditional art market. Founded by Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel who reigned between 1800 and 1823, Ubud Royal Palace serves as a center for arts and cultural activities, while the traditional market is an important symbol for the local economy. The palace is equipped with Wantilan, a large building used as a meeting place, as well as banyan trees that provide coolness for visitors during the day.
Ubud Art Market is a traditional market located in the center of Ubud Village and the last destination on the Bali Zoo Park and Ubud Tour. The market consists of two sections with different functions. The first section is aimed at the locals, where they sell a variety of daily necessities such as vegetables, food and ceremonial supplies. The other section is aimed at tourists, offering a variety of Balinese handicrafts. Here, there are rows of shops selling various handicraft items, and prices are negotiable.
