Taman Ayun Temple is one of the most famous and beautiful temples located in Mengwi Village, Badung Regency and is only about 18 km west of Denpasar City. The temple has a captivating beauty, in line with its name which means “temple in a beautiful garden.” During its history, Taman Ayun Temple has undergone several stages of restoration, including a major restoration carried out in 1937. In 1949, the kori agung (grand hall) and Pura Bentar also underwent restoration, during which time a large wantilan was built. The third restoration was carried out in 1972, followed by the final restoration which was completed in 1976.
Tanah Lot Temple is located on the shore of the rural village of Beraban, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency, about 30 km west of Denpasar City and about 11 km south of Tabanan City. The temple is built on 3 hectares of rock and can be accessed in a few minutes by foot, only 20 meters from the shoreline. Tanah Lot is indeed one of the most famous tourist destinations in Bali especially because the sunset view offered is very amazing and a feast for the eyes. Surrounding the temple are several coral reef corners that add to the beauty of this location. Tanah Lot is very different from the usual temples in Bali, this is because the Tanah Lot Temple has no courtyard at all because it is built on a coral plain that is irregular in the corners of the building.
