Blue Lagoon Beach is located on the eastern side of Bali and takes about 1.5 hours from Kuta to reach by car. However, the journey is well worth it, as this beach is like a hidden paradise. Bloo Lagoon or Blue Lagoon?

The beach that is now known as Blue Lagoon was previously known as Bloo Lagoon because of the hotel called Bloo Lagoon Resort around the beach. The name of the beach was later changed and is better known as Blue Lagoon. However, there is a bit of confusion as there is another beach in Bali, also known as Blue Lagoon, located in Nusa Ceningan under the name Blue Lagoon Nusa Ceningan. Therefore, it is important to confirm the name of the place, such as Blue Lagoon Padang Bai or Blue Lagoon Nusa Ceningan, as the locations are different. Blue Lagoon Nusa Ceningan is on a remote island, and to reach it, you must use a speedboat, as only sea transportation can go to Nusa Ceningan. Maybe because of the similarity in name between Bloo and Blue, Bloo Lagoon Beach is better known as Blue Lagoon Beach. In addition, the water here is very clear and blue in color, which may be another reason why this beach is called Blue Lagoon. Although some people still call it by the name Bloo Lagoon, you don’t need to be confused because this place is definitely Blue Lagoon Padang Bai.

Location Blue Lagoon Beach

Blue Lagoon Beach is located about an hour and a half from Denpasar International Airport. Padangbai is a busy port, mainly used by many for ferry trips to and from Lombok, as well as to the Gilis, Komodo Islands, and Flores. With its natural scenic beauty and small, natural village feel, it qualifies as one of the most attractive port towns in the world. At the northern end of town is Silayukti Temple, which dates back to the 11th century, and next to it is the Blue Lagoon, a white-sand beach that is perfect for snorkeling, diving, and relaxing at local warungs. Blue Lagoon is located in Padang Bai village, close to Padang Bai harbor, which is often used by fast boats to the Gili Islands. The journey from Kuta takes about two hours by car or motorcycle, and it’s easy to find as it’s on the one-way road to the east of Bali. As with the direction to Lempuyang, there are directions at every traffic light that make it easy to find the location of Blue Lagoon, Padang Bai. Blue Lagoon Beach is located close to Padangbai Harbor and is famous as an underwater paradise. The water is warm, and marine life is abundant. Here, you can see a wide variety of fish, from clouds of ultraviolet fish that glow orange to shoals of black fish with tails shaped like wrench heads to leopard-furred fish. With careful observation, you can even spot creatures hidden in the crevices of the reef with their camouflage techniques. The Blue Lagoon coastline borders a coral garden where you can snorkel among the psychedelic fish. Padangbai itself is the main port for ferries to Lombok and also for smaller boats to Nusa Penida. You can reach it by walking east past the striking headland at the eastern end of Bai. Just follow the signs that say Blue Lagoon. However, keep in mind that swimming around the reef can be difficult and dangerous due to the many submerged corals and rocks. While there are many good snorkeling spots in Bai, the snorkeling experience at Blue Lagoon or White Sand Beach is much more rewarding.
